No matter how much academics and the industry tries to shit on BASIC, C++ and every other newer language tries to move closer to it. Tuples are the re-introduction of a very bad thing. Well, not so much bad as highly abused. To understand my viewpoint you probably need to read page 4-100 (page 278 in the PDF) of this manual. Trigraphs and Digraphs
I remember thinking trigraphs were a cheap hack when they were first introduced. Now that I’m old I get called on to help “modernize” legacy code. How I know Just being an IT consultant for over 30 years doesn’t give a person this … Scrum Destroys Consulting FirmsRead more
NVIDIA 390 and BOINC
There has been great wailing about BOINC dropping support for the NVIDIA 390 series driver. I’m told some Linux distros don’t even include it anymore. Windows 10 users got to see a black screen after an OS update if they had either a Quadro or NVS 310 because support for the driver was dropped. Sadly they didn’t choose to fall back to generic drivers. Personally I have a small collection of NVS 310 and Quadro … NVIDIA 390 and BOINCRead more
