Let’s be honest. If you are a long time Ubuntu\/Mint\/YABU user you want a Debian package that fully installs. When it is a text editor you want to be able to select it as the default editor for various source files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You want to be able to add it to the “favorites” list so you can use it all of the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, you can do pretty much all of that with the Debains I’ve created scripts to create. Just in case it wasn’t clear before you need to use the Software Installer, not dpkg from the command line. That way you get all of your dependencies installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is nowhere near perfect. I have been using it to make most of the modifications to Diamond source once I got the EDT keypad functionality working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I discovered one bug testing tonight. If you right click on a file and select open with Diamond you can see this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “work around” for now is to have closed Diamond with one file still open. I have not had a chance to look at this. There is simply too much going on in the MainWindow constructor and too much of it is sequence\/timing dependent. It’s definitely on my list of things to look at because this is something I do a lot. The second work around is to simply open Diamond then have it open the file.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
